RIDG

Description

Renewable Infrastructure Development Group (RIDG) has entered the offshore wind market specifically to identify and develop large-scale projects that will create significant opportunities for the Scottish supply chain and the economy. The founding RIDG management team, who bring together over 40 years of offshore wind project, technical and industrial development experience, have designed RIDG to deliver a simpler, leaner and more flexible approach to project development.

RIDG was established in 2017 as an independent, specialised offshore wind project development company with the knowledge and experience to identify, design and deliver high quality consented assets for strategic partners to build and operate.

With the attractiveness of offshore wind increasing, competition to buy into projects later in their lifecycle is driving prices beyond the comfort zone of many investors. RIDG therefore presents the opportunity for these investors to enter at the conceptual stage and accept carefully managed development risk for a lower cost entry point.

The global shift to competitive subsidy auctions is also challenging the cost base of large multidisciplinary utilities. Increased capability and competition in the development services supply chain, the natural result of a maturing market, has however created a large pool of talent for smaller, more dynamic players to tap into.

The RIDG model is therefore a simpler, leaner and more flexible approach to project development. We use our experience to design and deliver high quality consented assets specifically around the needs of our partners. We do this by drawing upon the strengths of both established and emerging suppliers to safely maximise time and cost efficiencies.
