Petroperú S.A. is a state-owned company under private law dedicated to the exploration, exploitation, transportation, refining, distribution and commercialization of fuels and other petroleum products.
Petroperú is engaged in the exploration, transport, refining, distribution and sale of fuel and oil derivatives. Founded in 1969, Petroperú supplies products and services for automotive, marine, aviation, industrial and domestic use. The company operates four refineries (Talara, Conchán, Iquitos, El Milagro) and leases the Pucallpa refinery to Maple Gas Corp. del Perú S.R.L., while in oil transportation its assets include the Nor Peruano and Ramadal Norte pipelines. Some of Petroperu's main projects include the modernization of the Talara refinery and a heavy oil transportation project to support producers in Peru's northern jungle and southeast Ecuador.
