Tenaris began with the formation of Siderca in Argentina in 1948. Following an expansion of their operations in Argentina during the 1980s, the company began to evolve beyond this initial base in the 1990s into a global business through a series of strategic investments.
The company is now a leading supplier of tubes and related services for the world’s energy industry and certain other industrial applications. Their customers include most of the world’s leading oil & gas companies as well as engineering companies engaged in constructing oil & gas gathering, transportation and processing facilities. The company's principal products include casing, tubing, line pipe, and mechanical and structural pipes.
Operations span the globe. The company's industrial system integrates steelmaking, pipe rolling and forming, heat treatment, threading and finishing across 16 countries. It is complemented by a global network of R&D laboratories and product testing facilities on four continents and service and distribution centers in over 25 countries.
