Description

Marubeni Corporation is one of the largest trading companies in Japan with offices in 73 countries.

Marubeni regards its oil and gas E&P division to be one of its core businesses. Particularly, the projects in the UK North Sea have been steadily expanding after Marubeni acquired a package of oil and gas fields and exploration licenses in July 2000.

Marubeni participates in various oil and gas exploration, development, and production activities in U.S., U.K. North Sea, India, Qatar and Russia.

OPERATIONS

Energy Division-I
Energy Division-I is seeking to enhance its earnings base and develop new business domains in three primary business fields: LNG, oil and gas trading, and oil and gas marketing.

Marubeni participates in global LNG projects in Qatar, Equatorial Guinea, Peru, and Papua New Guinea.

Energy Division-II
Energy Division-II is focused on enhancing its earnings base through two main strategic fields - the resource development field, mainly the exploration and development of oil and gas fields and uranium mines, and the broad field of nuclear fuel.

Marubeni is involved in oil and gas exploration, development, and production activities in the U.S., U.K., India, and Russia
