AML

Description

AML is an Africa-focused commercial consultancy specialising in strategy and risk management, due diligence and non-litigious dispute resolution. Since 1997, companies, institutions, funds and investors have relied on their insights and access to inform their business decisions, bolster their resilience, and maximise captured value.

Baroness Lynda Chalker founded AML in 1997 based on her passion for Africa, and her belief that the private sector will be central to driving development across the continent. At a time when the main narrative surrounding Africa was that of the ‘hopeless continent,’ AML decided to challenge this mainstream and erroneous view. Central to AML’s founding ethos was and still is a commitment to align private sector commercial goals with country-level developmental agendas and priorities. By bridging the gap between the private and public sectors through their deep and broad relationships in both, AML have been able to deliver results and commercial value to their clients. Throughout the years, AML has informed clients’ understandings of commercial opportunities, risk landscapes, as well as country-specific operational and regulatory environments.

AML has consistently grown over the years and is proud to play a crucial strategic advisory role to the boards and leaders of some of the world’s biggest organisations. They remain a company based on relationships, not contacts. Their London office is located in the heart of Westminster and over twenty years after its founding, AML’s ethos is still firmly rooted in their passion for Africa and for the private sector.
