SPIC Brasil holds wind and hydro power generation assets in Brazil. The wind complexes are located in the state of Paraíba and have an installed capacity of 58 MW, enough energy to supply more than 200 thousand homes annually. The water arm emerged from the acquisition of the São Simão Hydroelectric Plant, in an auction held in September 2017. In addition to SPIC Brasil, shareholders of UHE São Simão are the company Zhejiang Energy International and the investment funds ZLCFB-Hong Kong International Investment Cooperation and CPD Energy Investment Co.
In China, SPIC is one of the five main energy generating groups, with a total installed capacity of 143GW, of which 71,457GW of thermal energy, 21.7GW of hydroelectric energy, 4,4752GW of nuclear energy, 10GW of solar energy and 12.6GW of wind energy. As a result of the merger, in May 2015, between China Power Investment Corporation and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation, SPIC has participated in the Fortune Global 500 for five consecutive years.
