Northland Power is a power producer dedicated to developing, building, owning and operating clean and green power infrastructure assets in Canada, Europe and other selected global jurisdictions.
Northland produces electricity from clean-burning natural gas and renewable resources such as wind, solar, and biomass. The company partners with Indigenous partners, municipalities and independent companies to develop and operate power-generation facilities in Canada, Europe and other selected jurisdictions. The company maintains an active development strategy focused on creating high-quality projects underpinned by revenue contracts that deliver predictable cash flows that ensure a continual increase in value for all stakeholders.
Established in 1987, Northland Power are one of Canada's first independent power producers that has achieved a remarkable growth trajectory. Currently, the company have operating facilities that generate 2,429 MW (gross) and 2,014 MW (net) of electricity, with an additional 399 MW of generating capacity under construction and 1,044 MW (gross) in advanced development.
