FLOW ASSURANCE: WHAT HAS THE INDUSTRY LEARNED OVER THE LAST 30 YEARS?

Back in the in 1980's, an early operator of a subsea tieback - Lasmo with Staffa - suffered a catastrophic pipeline wax blockage that created what was then called 'the longest candle in offshore history'.

Decades on, Serica has suffered a similar event that created the need for a replacement pipeline.

Has the industry learned sufficiently to not repeat such events, or have changes in fluid chemistry created new challenges? This event will discuss.

UK & BRAZIL: PARTNERS IN ENERGY

This is the 7th edition of the UK & Brazil: Partners in Energy event, with the objective to showcase UK capability in the energy industry, enabling companies to share expertise and consolidate strategic partnerships in the Brazilian energy market. 

As part of the programme, UK companies in the delegations will have the opportunity to present their capability in a conference on the 04 June 2019 in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, DIT team will organise a three-day visiting programme with the major contractors in the country.

A number of selected vendors/suppliers will be allocated a 7 minute slot to provide an 'elevator pitch' to a panel of Operators. The focus of the pitches are technical in nature, making the audience panel aware of technology, processes and procedures which have the potential to improve business outcomes. 

The themes for the Springboard are:

Inspection and Integrity of Subsea Pipeline and Riser Systems

  • Intrusive and non-intrusive  
  • Structural integrity and flow assurance 
  • Blockages, cleaning and clearances

Umbilical Integrity, inspection and life extension

  • Insulation resistance monitoring 
  • Power and comms
  • Fluid integrity and leak detection
  • Service failures options and solutions

SUBSEA UK  GOLF DAY
