Now Available: Angola Multiclient 3D Seismic Surveys Offshore Angola

13/05/2024

Angola Blocks 1, 2 & 3 Multiclient 3D MegaMerge Repro

DDMS Lda and TROIS Geoconsulting, in partnership with GeoPartners Lt and ANPG, offer to the industry 26 multiclient 3D seismic surveys in Blocks 1, 2 & 3 offshore Angola.

7 of these surveys are now being reprocessed from field tapes, using modern broadband reprocessing techniques.

Extensive exploration of the Lower Congo shallow water in the 1980s and 1990s encountered considerable gas reserves, but with limited opportunities to market this gas the fields lay undeveloped. These discovered fields are now being appraised with a view to commercialisation in 2026.

Over 16,500 sq.km of data are available that cover six wells, which have previously been drilled in these open blocks. The drilling has identified several discoveries, including Omosi-1 finding 160m gas column (significantly with zero associated CO2), and Ombovo-1 which found oil; both are yet to be developed.

Angola Blocks 35, 36 & 37 Multiclient 3D seismic

DDMS Lda and TROIS Geoconsulting, offer to the industry a multiclient 3D seismic survey covering Blocks 35, 36 & 37 in the deepwater Kwanza Basin.

Acquired in 2012, the 16,500 sq.km broadband survey targeted the deepwater pre-salt plays that had proved successful in the conjugate Brazil margins.

The subsequent drilling campaigns yielded encouraging results, Ombovo-1, drilled in Block 35 by ENI, was announced as an oil discovery, whilst Omosi-1, drilled by Conoco-Phillips in Block 37 encountered a 160 metre gas column with potentially 5 tcf in place.

Blocks 35,36,37 are included in the 2025 Bid Round planned by ANPG.

Angola Block 6 Multiclient 3D seismic

DDMS Lda and TROIS Geoconsulting, offer to the industry a multiclient 3D seismic survey covering part of Block 6 in the shallow water Kwanza shelf.

Acquired in 2007, the survey targeted the shallow water presalt and post salt Cretaceous plays.

The Kwanza Shelf is considerably under-explored. Of the 43 wells drilled here, 31 of these (or 72%) were drilled prior to 1993. Furthermore, only two exploration wells were seemingly drilled on 3D seismic data, the remaining 41 being drilled on 2D data of various 1980’s vintages. In Block 6, the Cegonha Field was discovered in 1983, with oil in the Catumbela oolitic carbonates and Mucanzo Formation fluvial deltaic sands, both of Albian age.
