A leading hydraulics specialist has revealed that it will invest a six-figure sum and create up to ten new jobs thanks to planned expansion of its Aberdeen business.

Dundee-based Saturn Fluid Engineering has ploughed more than £500,000 into the creation of a new integrity division in a move which is set to create up to ten new jobs in Aberdeen during the first quarter of 2024. Saturn Integrity Management Ltd will provide technical expertise in whole system integrity, maintenance and inspection services including Flexible Hose Assemblies, Small Bore Tubing and Accumulator management.

The drive to develop services which mirror Saturn’s core capabilities will not only stimulate growth across the board but also consolidate the company’s growing presence in Aberdeen by locating the new division there.

The recruitment of additional personnel in Aberdeen will also put the company on track to welcome its 50th team member and it is hoped that the expansion will spark further growth in the energy and renewables sectors.

Overseas work accounts for some 50% of Saturn’s business and, as well as its headquarters in Dundee and planned growth in Aberdeen, Saturn already has premises in Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, and Australia.  It is hoped that the current presence in Perth and Adelaide will soon grow to include Sydney, with Canada and Saudi Arabia also high on the list of key international target areas.

Saturn was founded by Ewen and Shona Clunie in 2016 and is primarily focused on working with clients across a range of sectors including defence, marine and energy.  It has a strong and enviable track record in delivering dynamic, customer focused fluid management solutions using unrivalled technical expertise and support to consistently exceed customer expectations.
