11/07/2021

Syria Observatory For Human Rights (SOHR) sources have reported that a home-made missile, believed to be fired from areas controlled by Iranian-backed militias in western Euphrates, hit the military base in al-Omar oil field in east Euphrates region in Deir Ezzor countryside, which is the largest military base of the International Coalition in Syria. However, no casualties have been reported.

SOHR activists reported hearing an explosion in Koniko gas field which hosts a military base of the International Coalition in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, caused by a rocket believed to be fired by Iranian-backed militias stationed in western Euphrates on the field. The rocket hit a site near the military base in the field. However, no casualties were reported.

On July 7, SOHR activists reported that a drone, believed to be affiliated to the Iranian-backed militias was launched from areas under the control of the factions in al-Mayadeen countryside in the east of Deir Ezzor, targeted “al-Omar oilfield”, the largest base of the International Coalition in Syria at the eastern bank of Euphrates River. Meanwhile, the International Coalition forces and SDF stationed in al-Omar base intercepted the attack by anti-aircraft system, but no casualties were reported.
