14/08/2020

Sector-specialist advisory firm, The Renewables Consulting Group (RCG), have announced the appointment of Laura Evertsen as a Director in the company’s growing Taipei office.

Mrs Evertsen is an accomplished executive bringing over 15 years of extensive experience in renewable energy leadership and substantial knowledge of offshore wind project development. Before joining RCG, Mrs Evertsen served as Head of Renewables for multinational energy and services company, Centrica. Prior to that she held a number of commercial and development roles, including six years as Head of Development for Centrica Renewables with responsibility for offshore wind activity. During this role Mrs Evertsen was responsible for attaining consent for 850 MW of offshore wind in the United Kingdom for the Lincs and Race Bank wind farms, as well as securing exclusive development rights for a further 4,200 MW offshore wind projects. She has extensive experience in working with joint venture partners, as well as supporting major divestments and project financing.

In her latter role Mrs Evertsen worked on the strategy and negotiation of core contracts which enabled Centrica to operate the first out-of-warranty offshore wind farm independently from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Mrs Evertsen, who is based in Taiwan, will be reporting to Gareth Lewis, RCG’s Managing Director for Asia Pacific.

Commenting on the news, Gareth Lewis said:
“We are delighted that Laura has joined RCG to lead our development services in Taiwan. Her extensive knowledge in this area, combined with her commercial expertise will be a tremendous asset for our clients. Her appointment reinforces our commitment to this important market, and anticipates further expansion built on the success RCG has already seen in Taiwan” – Gareth Lewis, Managing Director, APAC.

Mrs Evertsen added:
“I am thrilled to be joining the team at RCG. Given the rapid growth in the renewable energy market across Asia, this is an exciting time to join the firm, with its outstanding track record in projects across the region. I look forward to the challenges of supporting and leading this rapidly growing business.” – Laura Evertsen, Director, Taipei.

The Taipei office, in conjunction with RCG’s office in Tokyo, is leading the acceleration of the firm’s Asia Pacific platform in order to realise its goal of providing a top-tier market intelligence, management consulting, and technical advisory service to the renewable sector and delivering long-term value for clients.
