RES is the world's largest independent renewable energy company with over 16 GW portfolio and the expertise to develop, engineer, construct, finance, and operate projects around the globe.

Wind projects
RES have been involved in researching renewable technologies since the 1980s, and built their first wind farm in Cornwall, UK, in 1992. Within 10 years the company had completed the largest wind farm in the world at the time, in Texas. Today, with one of the largest project portfolios in the industry and an asset management portfolio exceeding 2 GW, RES continue to provide partnerships and services to the world's fastest growing energy sector.

Solar
RES has a wealth of experience in solar development, construction, and operations covering both utility-scale, centralized energy solar farms and distributed solutions, across the Americas and the EMEA region.

RES has the capabilities to develop, construct, operate, and optimize the operation of solar projects utilizing photovoltaic (PV) technology.

The company can provide feasibility, detailed design, and project management through to construction, finance, ownership, asset sale or continued energy generation.

RESolve energy storage
RESolve energy storage systems encompass the full life-cycle of energy storage solutions, from day-one modeling and in-house engineering, to construction and long-term management.

Overview of global operations

UNITED KINGDOM

RES has been at the forefront of the renewable energy sector in the UK and Ireland since the early 1980s. The company developed the UK’s second ever wind farm, in 1992 at Carland Cross in Cornwall – and since then, have grown to become one of the largest independent renewable energy companies in the UK and Ireland. RES currently have more than 1,000 MW (megawatts) of renewable energy projects constructed, under construction or at advanced planning stages.

The company are  involved in a range of renewable energy technologies, including onshore wind, solar, offshore wind, wave and tidal, as well as enabling technologies such as energy storage and demand side management.

RES have developed and built over 40 wind and solar farms, and operate over 20 assets for a range of clients. The company also provide development, engineering, construction, and asset operation and maintenance services for utility-scale onshore and offshore wind, solar, and energy storage installations.

The company's first UK solar farm opened in 2014, and they now have a portfolio of consented solar projects. RES have the resources and project management capabilities needed to develop, construct, and operate solar farms for large-scale power generation.

RES are also pioneers in utility scale energy storage that provide a multitude of grid services. The company's experience in operating renewable energy projects and understanding network requirements means we can integrate and operate energy storage schemes efficiently.

CANADA

RES have played a central role in the Canadian renewable energy, transmission development and energy storage markets since 2003.

The company have more than 750 MW (megawatts) of renewable energy installed or currently under construction in Canada. These utility-scale projects total an annual production of 2.6 terawatt hours – providing enough electricity for 240,000 homes and preventing 1.8 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. Examples include the first solar project under the Ontario FIT program, and Ontario’s largest wind farm, the 270 MW South Kent facility in the municipality of Chatham-Kent.

AUSTRALIA

RES has been developing renewable energy in Australia since 2004, providing wind farms that generate pollution free electricity, contribute to a cleaner environment, and have a positive economic effect on their local communities.

The company has significant renewable energy projects in Australia such as Ararat and more recently Murra Warra. These projects represent some of the largest wind farms in the southern hemisphere. Building on their global power purchase agreement experience, RES signed Australia's first utility-scale corporate PPA with Telstra in 2017 for its first Australian solar farm - 72MW, located in Emerald, Queensland.

RES signed subsequent power purchase agreements with Telstra and its customers for Murra Warra Wind Farm in 2018. The company were a founding signatory of the Clean Energy Council’s Best Practice Charter for Renewable Energy Developments.

FRANCE

RES entered the French market in 1999 as a joint venture with Eole Technologie, a wind farm developer active since 1995. The company were originally known as EOLE-RES and are now one of the leading renewable energy companies on the French market.

RES is behind 627 MW (megawatts) of renewable energy installed or currently under construction in France. These utility-scale projects produce 1.6 terawatt hours annually, providing enough electricity for 355,000 homes and preventing 136,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.

The company have more than 2,500 MW of projects under development, at different stages.

GERMANY

Since 2013, RES has been developing wind energy projects and turnkey energy storage for landowners, municipalities, energy suppliers and industrial clients in Germany.

SWEDEN & NORWAY

Established in 2002, Nordisk Vindkraft is a leading wind power developer in Sweden and Norway. Operating as an independent business with full technical and financial support from family owned parent company, RES.

Nordisk Vindkraft have developed and built wind farms with an installed capacity of 400 MW.

The company's business focuses on the move from a reliance on fossil fuels to renewable energy.

Nordisk Vindkraft have the in-house engineering and commercial experience and capabilities to develop, construct, asset manage and operate large scale wind farms and the company has been assigned by the Swedish Energy Agency to conduct research aiming at empowering the Swedish wind power industry to be more cost efficient and sustainable. The research has been part of the authorities' support to research, development and innovation within the energy industry.

The project consisted of extensive research on technical aspects like wind measurements at a high altitude, ice fall studies, construction of foundations in cold climate and connection possibilities to the national grid. It also measured the local socio-economic effects of wind power, illuminated health and safety aspects in development, construction and operation phases and presented project financing of large-scale wind farms.

USA

RES have been providing development, engineering, construction and operations services to the utility-scale wind, solar, transmission, energy storage markets across the United States since 1997.

RES employs more than 500 full-time professionals and have more than 8,000 MW of renewable energy projects installed or currently under construction in the US. These total an annual production of 25 terawatt hours, and can provide enough electricity for 2.3 million homes. They also prevent 17 million tons of CO2 emissions every year. In addition, RES currently have more than 5,300 MW of projects at different stages of development.

RES are experts in third-party engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and balance of plant/systems (BOP/BOS) construction services for the renewable energy, transmission, and energy storage industries. The company also develop and/or own and operate renewable energy and storage projects.

TURKEY

RES was established in Turkey in 2009 and now employ over 20 people in their office in Istanbul. Since 2009, the company have developed over 200 MW of wind power, and have over 2,000 MW of solar and wind energy in their development portfolio.
