Crondall Energy join WSP-led consortium, providing technical advice to the UK government on CCUS

17/07/2020

Continuing their efforts on EnergyTransition and the road to NetZero, Crondall Energy has been appointed, with its partners, by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to advise on progressing the development of Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS) in the UK.

Crondall Energy will be working alongside its partners WSP and GeoEnergy Durham to provide engineering and technical advice to BEIS over the next two years as part of the government’s ambition of having the option to deploy CCUS at scale during the 2030s.

Stephen Booth, Managing Director, Crondall Energy Subsea, said:
“Crondall Energy is delighted to be working with our partners WSP and GeoEnergy Durham on the BEIS CCUS Development Engineering and Technical Advisory Support contract. This contract comes at a significant time for CCUS globally and we are excited to support the government in developing a world leading CCUS industry in the UK. It is also significant for Crondall Energy as it consolidates our Energy Transition services as a key part of our business which has traditionally been offshore oil and gas. We have greatly enjoyed working with our partners, WSP & GeoEnergy Durham, on previous projects & look forward to continuing to work as part of this team.”
