Burisma signs direct agreements for equipment supply with National Oilwell Varco

22/11/2017

Burisma International Energy Group visited the headquarters of National Oilwell Varco (NOV) in Houston, USA. The company’s delegation, headed by a member of the board of directors Karina Zlochevska, met with NOV’s management to learn about the production of drilling rigs, offshore platforms and auxiliary equipment.

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) is a leading oilfield equipment manufacturer and technology provider with a product portfolio that supports full-field development needs, from drilling to completion to production, in basins around the world, land or offshore.

Burisma and NOV signed agreements for equipment supply and technical support. In particular, the first batch of equipment purchased by Burisma – TDS-11SA top drive – will be delivered to Ukraine in early 2018. It is the most prolific top drive in the world today, capable of producing 800 HP, with 500 tons load capacity, offering a formidable 37,100 ft-lbs of continuous drilling torque at 110 RPM. The top drive will be installed on the SK-2000 rig at the Vodianivske field and equipped with a Caterpillar generator set. The equipment will increase the drilling speed of the rig by 20-30% and decrease accidents rate.

“Burisma Group is determined to commit all efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s energy security. The more we grow as an independent company, the more we are able to contribute to this great initiative. We are proud to have the most advanced drilling fleet in Ukraine and implement the latest technologies. At the same time, what we have achieved already only brings into sharp focus the need for further improvement. The agreements signed with NOV will allow us to purchase equipment directly, which greatly simplifies negotiation and reduces delivery time”, says Karina Zlochevska.
