In 2017, Ecuador became one of the most important Producing projects of Belorusneft. During 2017, five highly productive wells were built, the total average daily oil production of which makes up 350 tons.

The works are being carried out at the Armadillo field of block no. 55 in accordance with the 16-year contract for provision of specialized integrated services between Petroamazonas – state petroleum company of Ecuador – and Belorusneft subsidiary – Service Oil Ecuador EcuaServoil.

The Armadillo field is a part of Block 55, located in the traditional production region of Ecuador - eastern province of Napo.

During the implementation of the contract, geological studies were performed on the basis of seismic data, and engineering communications were designed and built taking into account the strict environmental requirements of this country. Based on the data obtained as a result of processing and interpretation of the 3D seismic survey, specialists of Belorusneft recommended drilling new wells. Construction of the first began in April 2017, the fifth is completed in December.

During the implementation of this project, processing of field seismic information, structural and dynamic interpretation, creating a structural model, and predicting the reservoir properties of reservoirs in the inter-wellbore space based on 3D seismic data and information obtained while drilling wells.

According to experts, successful production at the field confirms correctness of the calculation made by Belarusian geologists in substantiating the construction of wells. As a result, it was possible to open three deposits and obtain new data on reserves. Preliminary geological reserves have increased several times - up to 100 million barrels of oil.

Today, the employees of the Institute "BelNIPIneft" are working on development of stratigraphic, sedimentological and petrophysical models. At present, the daily production at the field reached a mark of 2,300 barrels. Design and construction of infrastructure is under way.
