Dr Carl Trowell to succeed Richard Higham as CEO of Acteon Group

Acteon Group Ltd, a leading global provider of marine and seabed services to the renewable, infrastructure and oil and gas industries, is announcs that Dr Carl Trowell is to be appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Richard Higham.

Carl has 25 years of experience in a wide range of roles across the energy sector. He joins Acteon from Ensco (now known as Valaris plc), the publicly listed offshore drilling company, which he joined in 2014 as Chief Executive and subsequently became Executive Chairman in 2019 following its merger with Rowan Companies and rebranding as Valaris. Prior to Ensco, Carl worked for Schlumberger, one of the world’s leading oilfield services provides, holding a variety of leadership positions for 17 years including Managing Director for the North Sea region and global head of marketing and sales, before becoming President of both the Production Management and Integrated Project Management divisions in 2009.

Carl will join Acteon on 1 June 2020, with Richard stepping down as Chief Executive after 30 years with the company. Richard will remain on the Board of Acteon as a Non-Executive Director and Senior Advisor.
