Niger Delta Petroleum Resources Ltd (NDPR) regrets to confirm an attack which occurred at 11.33pm (23:33hrs) on the 26th of April 2019 by unknown gunmen at a rig owned and managed by ACME Energy Integrated Services Limited.

The land rig is located close to NDPR’s Ogbele Facility in Ahoada, Rivers State. The services of ACME were engaged by NDPR to support its ongoing Drilling Campaign. 

Three members of ACME’s staff were kidnapped, and nine (9) personnel on site were injured. The injured personnel received first aid treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

NDPR cannot comment further but is supporting ACME, the police and relevant security agencies in their ongoing investigations.  

NDPR’s commitment to HSE & Security places the safety and health of service providers and staff as paramount. To this end, we continue to work with host communities, Federal, State and Local Governments and all relevant agencies to promote a peaceful operating environment.

The present security strategy and arrangements are being enhanced in collaboration with other measures with the support of Federal Government Security Agencies.

Over the years, NDPR as operator of the Ogbele Field has worked tirelessly to promote a culture of best practice and peaceful community relations, through the Host Community Development Trust.

To date, there has been more than 13 years of uninterrupted production and activities.
