EPI announces Colombia contract award from Repsol

17/06/2016

EPI are to supply a number of specialist technical, safety and environmental field consultants to represent Repsol during a marine 3D seismic survey that started in March 2016. The EPI team includes seismic, navigation and HSE specialists as well as Marine Faunal Observers, working offshore on a PGS Geophysical seismic vessel over a 4-6 month period. Their role is to ensure all aspects of acquisition are carried-out safely and to Repsol’s specifications.

The marine survey program is located offshore Colombia, in the Caribbean Sea on the Col-4 block. The main objective of the offshore survey is to acquire 3D seismic data in in waters from about 2000 meters to 3200 meters depth. Data will be acquired using multiple streamers and dual source, using PGS GeoStreamer™ technology from the vessel Ramform Atlas.

Richard Thompson, Director of Marine Operations said:
‘We are delighted to be supporting Repsol for another large work program where EPI has gained considerable experience in-country. This is now our 17th survey in Colombian waters supporting operators in this challenging work environment. Our team of experienced consultants are supported by a team of geophysicists in both our UK and Bogota offices’.

Tito Duval, EPI Colombia, added:
‘Being located close to Repsol’s Colombian HQ means we can be attentive to their needs and continue building this strong partnership following a number of previous awards in support of their 2D, 3D and Site Survey work in Colombia.’
