Maël Lagarde, Director/Manager of VSB France, and the Mayor of Saint-Sulpice, Dominique Ondet, inaugurated the Bosjean wind farm located in the municipality of Saint Sulpice (63) earlier this month.
The Bosjean wind farm consists of six Vestas V110 wind turbines with a total capacity of 12.8 MW. Production is estimated at 24 GWh per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of over 12,000 inhabitants and 7,800 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided annually. With this new wind farm, VSB France now operates two wind farms in the Puy-de-Dôme region, producing a total of 102 GWh and preventing 30,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
During the construction phase, VSB France made a point of contracting with local and regional companies, notably working with TP Lyaudet for earthworks, OT Engineering for civil engineering, and Cégelec for the network infrastructure. CIC Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIC CIB) assisted VSB with project financing. This wind farm is also equipped with a new-generation, patented 3D bird detection system (BDS), supplied by BIOSECO, a European partner.
VSB France developed, built and provides technical and administrative management of the Bosjean wind farm.
“I am very pleased to inaugurate this new wind farm, which strengthens our presence in the Puy-de-Dôme region,” said Maël Lagarde, CEO/Manager of VSB France. “With the Bosjean wind farm, we now have two wind farms in this department, producing no less than 102 GWh! This is a great way for a region to participate in the energy transition and contribute significantly to sustainability for future generations.”
“Developing renewable energy in our region means contributing to the decarbonization of our energy production and strengthening our energy independence, which is more crucial than ever,” added Dominique Ondet, Mayor of Saint-Sulpice. “The inauguration of this new wind farm demonstrates our commitment to the energy transition and marks a new step in the development of renewable energy in our rural area.”
“What makes Eoliennes de Bosjean particularly important to me is the quality of the collaboration: with local businesses, the municipality, and the financial partners on site. This is how we envision project development at VSB: as projects that produce renewable energy while maintaining value creation in the region. For VSB, this is part of our concept of responsible project development,” adds Felix Grolman, CEO of the VSB Group.
