Representatives of a number of Russian oil companies will soon visit South Sudan to discuss oil and gas cooperation between the countries. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Nyal Deng Nyal.
According to him, the relations between Russia and South Sudan are constantly developing, and a number of South Sudanese Ministers have recently visited Moscow.
"South Sudan will soon be visited by representatives of several Russian companies that have expressed their willingness and desire to invest in the oil sector," - the Minister said.
According to him, Rosneft and other Russian companies consider investing in the energy sector of South Sudan.
He noted that there were a number of oil-rich deposits in South Sudan for which investors had not yet been involved. These fields, the Minister said, are "ready for investments".
Next week, the country will be visited by representatives of Rosgeologiya to discuss the cooperation in the field of geological exploration, the Prime reports.
According to the Minister, South Sudan is interested in conducting surveys in a number of districts of the country in order to learn about the presence of minerals and their volume.
