MOL Group and its subsidiary, INA Grupa have held productive and constructive discussions with the Syrian Petroleum Company on the potential reactivation of oil and gas operations in Syria. 

Syria has long been a cornerstone of INA’s international portfolio. Until the suspension of operations in 2012 — mandated by international sanctions — INA had invested USD 1.1 billion in the country. Returning after more than a decade is a complex process, requiring careful operational, technical, regulatory, commercial and legal assessment. 

Resuming dialogue with Syria marks another important milestone in MOL Group’s continuously expanding international upstream portfolio. Further diversifying our sources and supply routes enables us to effectively mitigate the effects of the unfolding global energy crisis.
