A world-class name in specialist industrial services, specialist waste management services and process decontamination has reinforced its position in the decommissioning sector with a series of recent contract awards.

Denholm Environmental (a Denholm Energy subsidiary) is continuing to leverage its nationwide footprint by pooling resources and expertise from Invergordon, Grangemouth, Carlisle and Inverurie to deliver products and services that are meeting with growing demand across the sector.

One recent success at an oil terminal in the north of Scotland saw tankers deployed from Grangemouth to operate alongside a specialist team of personnel and specialist sludge removal, handling and treatment equipment from Invergordon and Inverurie. Working collaboratively, the team successfully removed, treated and disposed of significant quantities of heavy sludges from a de-ballast tank, demonstrating the company’s capability to mobilise quickly and deliver complex operations safely and efficiently.

The company’s traction in the decommissioning sector forms part of a wider strategy to transfer skills developed in Denholm Environmental’s traditional oil and gas market into other sectors including brewing, distilling and utilities as well as decommissioning.  The company is also supporting waste-to-energy project maintenance, particularly anaerobic digestion facilities, and it continues to capitalise on opportunities across offshore production and onshore refining and petrochemical industries.
