Petrodec Commences Its Second Major Decommissioning Project For Perenco UK

28/04/2026

World’s largest jack-up platform moves to Pickerill Field

Petrodec, the specialist in integrated solutions for decommissioning and part of the Dixstone group, is pleased to announce that the Petrodec OBANA has commenced its second major decommissioning project for Perenco UK, moving to the Pickerill Field in the UK Southern North Sea (SNS).

The Obana recently left its dedicated yard at Vlissingen-Oost (East Flushing) in the Netherlands and is now on location on the Pickerill Field where it will remove the jackets from Pickerill A and Pickerill B, before returning to the Amethyst field to remove the jacket of Amethyst A1D.  The OBANA is expected to complete this work programme by the end of June, when it will return to the yard for offloading and dismantling work.

Petrodec General Manager Rainier Verhulst, said:
“There is real momentum with the OBANA’s decommissioning schedule.  Since completing her maiden work programme earlier this year, she is already back out supporting Perenco UK in meeting their commitments.  OBANA’s sheer scale is proving to be a game changer in meeting our client’s needs, ensuring efficient and cost-effective infrastructure removal.  I would like to thank all the Petrodec team for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring the safe delivery of our latest programme.”
