Bill Wilks, Philip Copestake and Eleanor Oldham are heading to Oslo and Stavanger on 2nd March to catch up with clients ahead of the APA round which is expected in May 2026.

Merlin has been supporting its Norwegian clients for more than a decade. The company are currently carrying out a stratigraphic evaluation and have recently completed a top seal study in the Norwegian North Sea to analyse a dry hole. This latter work considered trap timing, trap geometry, fault seal potential, mechanical top-seal analysis and capillary seal analysis as failure risks. Wider pressure studies utilising Merlin's bespoke probabilistic mechanical top-seal evaluation software have also been put to good use helping to better understand top seal risk for undrilled structures.
