Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi met today in Tirana with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Edi Rama.
Mr. Descalzi updated the Prime Minister on Eni’s activities in the country, highlighting exploration activities focusing on gas and on the onshore Dumrea permit, as well as initiatives related to the energy transition. In particular, the parties discussed projects for generating electricity from renewable sources in Albania, with subsequent distribution to Italy via an interconnector.
Eni was present in Albania in the early 1990s and returned to the country in 2019.
