14/01/2026

UK-based electrical engineering specialist, Ventus Energy, has been awarded a series of four-year contracts by EDF power solutions UK to deliver high-voltage (HV) management and support services across five of its UK sites.

The technical service agreements cover key offshore wind farms Blyth and Teesside, as well as two battery energy storage systems (BESS), Sundon and Tye Lane, and has most recently been extended to include Neart na Gaoithe (NNG) Offshore Wind Farm.

Under the terms of the contracts, Ventus Energy will deliver HV control, senior authorised persons (SAP) services, and fault response and repair across all five sites. In addition, Blyth, Teesside, Sundon and Tye Lane will benefit from dedicated inspection and maintenance services.

Alastair Symington, head of operations and maintenance at Ventus Energy, commented:
“From offshore wind farms to large-scale battery storage, our teams are delivering the complex HV services these critical assets demand.

“This partnership not only strengthens our technical capabilities but also expands our footprint in the UK’s renewable energy sector, positioning Ventus as a go-to partner for high-voltage infrastructure.”

Through these frameworks, Ventus Energy will create job opportunities, invest in targeted growth initiatives and expand its training programmes to support workforce development.

Ventus Energy specialises in a range of high-voltage services, including testing and termination, fault and emergency response, operations and maintenance, electrical safety management and coordination, and is a preferred supplier for both onshore and subsea cable repair.
