Uzbekistan and Netherlands discuss cooperation in oil and gas industry

The Uzbek Ambassador to the Benelux countries Diler Khakimov held a meeting in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with the leadership of the Association of the Dutch IRO suppliers. Participants discussed prospects for the development of cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

During the negotiations with IRO Managing Director Sander Vergrosen and Business Development Manager Tierk Suurenbruk, the head of the diplomatic mission shared information on the modern development of the oil and gas industry in Uzbekistan.

It was noted that 242 deposits are successfully operating in the republic, 110 of which were discovered during the years of independence, of which 15 - in cooperation with foreign investors.

To date, large companies such as Lukoil and Gazprom (Russia), Petronas (Malaysia), CNODC (PRC), KNOC (Korea) and others are represented in Uzbekistan.

In turn, the Dutch side expressed readiness to establish contacts with Uzbekneftegaz JSC and promote the energy potential of Uzbekistan among the members of the Association.

Representatives of IRO confirmed their interest in organizing the visit of the member companies of the association to Uzbekistan to discuss the prospects for the implementation of projects in the energy sector.

Sander Vergrosen invited the relevant structures and companies of Uzbekistan to take part in the next IRO meeting, which will be held in Rotterdam in October of this year.
