eTest Doubles Down on Capacity and Headcount as Global Demand Soars

25/11/2025

eTest, part of the Aberdeenshire-based eGroup, is scaling up to meet international client demand after completing its largest subsea pressure testing project to date and securing a high-profile, three-year international contract.

The Kintore-based company has also doubled its workforce, strengthened its management team and implemented a full business restructure to ensure it has the capacity to deliver complex international projects, with the team’s first mobilisation to Italy now underway.

Delivering high-quality non-destructive testing (NDT) services for 11 years, eTest’s direct headcount is now sitting at 18, supported by a further six staff in key support functions.

As part of this latest stage in their strategic evolution, eTest has appointed a new Base Manager and Technical Manager and carried out a series of internal promotions recognising the experience and commitment of its existing team. A targeted recruitment drive has doubled the size of the workforce, with six new employees joining, including two PCN Level 2 radiographers, significantly increasing the company’s capacity to deliver larger and more complex projects.

The company has also introduced several hydro-testing roles to support both base and subsea sectors, enhancing the company’s ability to deliver a comprehensive service offering across industries.

Earlier this year, eTest reached a major milestone with the successful completion of its largest subsea pressure testing project to date. This involved one of the highest-pressure subsea manifolds ever mobilised from Aberdeen which ran over multiple phases in excess of 12 months. The project was delivered safely and without issue for a key client, Global Energy Group, drawing multiple positive comments from both the client and end user for the quality and expertise demonstrated by eTest throughout.

“Our business has grown rapidly in recent years, and this restructure ensures that our team and systems are aligned with where we are now,  and where we’re heading,” said eGroup Managing Director Scott Duguid. “By investing in people and strengthening our structure, we’re making sure eTest is equipped to take on larger scopes of work while maintaining the standards our clients expect.”

Since its formation, eTest has built a strong track record delivering high-quality non-destructive testing services to the energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors, both in the UK and internationally. The division works closely with sister company eBlast under the eGroup umbrella offering clients a fully integrated model that combines NDT and hydrostatic pressure testing, with surface preparation and specialist coatings.

“It’s been a transformational year for eTest,” added Scott. “The changes we’ve made place us in our strongest position yet , with the right people, the right structure and mindset to support our clients’ projects safely and efficiently.”
