Aberdeen Drilling Management (ADM) has marked its milestone 25th anniversary with a strategic move into a vital emerging market.

The Deepwater Development Consortium (DWDC) is a newly established collaboration between ADM, Future Energy Partners (FEP), and Teyshas Energy LLC.  It has successfully secured its inaugural work package: advising the Government of Guyana on safety, environmental assurance and operational integrity in relation to the operator’s plans for the Stabroek Block.

This achievement marks out DWDC's arrival in Guyana's burgeoning energy sector and is expected to provide a springboard towards further international growth with the Consortium’s combined strengths, local insight, technical prowess and global operational capability providing significant advantages in pursuing future opportunities across the region and beyond.

DWDC was formed to leverage decades of collective experience in access, subsurface, wells, facilities, operations, decommissioning and other specialities. Its mission is to collaboratively unlock potential in conventional and new energy frontiers, including new and evolving technologies, by harnessing the adaptable skills of its member organisations.

ADM and DWDC continue to provide advice to Guyana Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) on operational safety and planning, and are simultaneously progressing opportunities in Namibia, where they have been active for several years including attracting private investment with a view to derisking projects related to oil and gas, Carbon Capture (Usage) & Storage (CCS/CCUS), and hybrid energy.

Commenting on the news from Guyana, ADM’s Martin Cox said:
“For us, this partnership is about helping to create a highly respected legacy for Aberdeen.  North Sea veterans, wherever they are in the world, carry both the respect of others for their skills and their own profound respect for Scotland's energy sector. They have been well-trained and well-supported by Aberdeen – and that really matters to them."

“The achievements in the North Sea impress people globally, and despite significant changes in the energy sector, there's still a strong appetite to capture and repurpose those skills for the next chapter. By being part of DWDC, ADM is perfectly positioned to play its part in achieving that.”

FEP CEO Greg Coleman:
“Working with Teyshas and ADM has enabled the partnership to deliver the best people to address the challenges in offshore developments in Guyana and globally.

Les Anthony of Teyshas Energy said:
“Our team is excited to bring our specialised expertise in operations, business development, engineering, and geology to the Deepwater Development Consortium. We are particularly keen on applying our deep oil and gas knowledge to both traditional and new energy solutions, including renewables, carbon capture, geothermal and hybrid energy solutions (the flexibility of gas is an early economic enabler, yet to be fully realised), as we embark on this significant work in Guyana and beyond.”
