OEG to Supply Peterson with 500 Offshore Containers Through to 2030

24/07/2025

OEG's global commercial director Gavin Collins, VP ACE Rob Goodall, and Maikel Kivits head of Peterson Den Helder operations

OEG, a leading energy solutions business, has secured a significant five-year contract with Peterson Energy Logistics in Den Helder for 500 offshore containers to support its operations in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.

The award builds on a successful 10-year relationship between the two businesses, previously managed by the company’s Norwegian team. To further enhance service delivery and response times, the project will now be managed out of OEG’s strategically located yard close to Peterson’s facility in Den Helder.

The firm’s DNV and ISO certified containers are recognised for their superior durability, strength, and adaptability to harsh environments. The 500 refurbished units for Peterson Den Helder feature enhanced lashing points to enable faster and more efficient loading and unloading, enabling operational efficiency for the organisation’s supply chain. With 19 different types being supplied, including mini-containers, dry vans, open tops, and half-height baskets, Peterson Den Helder will have the flexibility to meet a variety of logistical demands.

A key component of the new contract is OEG’s Den Helder yard space. Its full-service offering, which includes ongoing maintenance and replacement of the units when required, will ensure a reliable and consistent supply of high-quality offshore containers.

OEG’s VP Africa, Caspian & Europe, Rob Goodall, said:
“This is a major milestone in our longstanding partnership with Peterson in Den Helder. For the past decade, our global commercial director Gavin Collins and the team in Norway have provided exceptional service to their operations in The Netherlands, and we are committed to maintaining the same high standards of responsiveness and reliability through our port of Den Helder based capabilities. This seamless handover and localised approach ensure even closer collaboration and faster response times.

“OEG remains the leading supplier of DNV and ISO certified offshore containers around the world. With the largest fleet in the market strategically located, we play a key role in offsetting the industry's ongoing shortage of units. Our focus on service and operational excellence is a significant differentiator that continues to set us apart in a competitive market, and this five-year contract with Peterson Den Helder reaffirms the trust our customers place in us.”

Peterson Den Helder plays a crucial role in offshore logistics, managing terminal operations, supply boats, trucks, warehouses, and helicopter transport to support its customers in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. OEG’s robust offshore containers will be used to transport essential commodities to offshore installations, ensuring safe and efficient logistics.

Maikel Kivits is Head of Operations for Peterson in the Netherlands. He said:
“We are pleased to continue working with the team at OEG. With OEG managing the project from Den Helder, we have enhanced local input which is a positive development.”
