Following the conclusion of the Energy Institute’s Annual General Meeting, the professional membership body is pleased to announce the appointment of six new individuals to its governing Council, strengthening its role as the chartered professional membership body for people working across the world of energy.
Three new Vice Presidents were appointed: Simon Virley CBE FEI, Vice Chair and Head of Energy and Natural Resources at KPMG; Laura Sandys CBE FEI, Chair of Green Alliance, former Member of Parliament, and Non-Executive Director; and Ann Davies FEI, Senior Vice President for Wells at bp.
Joining the Council as the EI’s Honorary Treasurer is Mano Sundaram FEI, Senior Vice President Finance at Shell. Additionally, Victoria Aston AMEI, Legal Counsel at Exceed Energy, and Marta Oliveria AMEI, Senior Associate at Ikigai, have been appointed as Council Members. Marta will also represent the EI’s Young Professionals Network.

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome our new Council members - esteemed industry leaders whose insights and experience will be instrumental as we pursue this mission. I look forward to working alongside them as we continue to support the sector and society through the energy transition.”
Departing the Council, having completed their terms, are Juliet Davenport OBE FEI, Aleida Rios FEI FREng, Michael Howie AMEI, Simardeep Soor FEI, Professor Robert Gross FEI, and Professor John Currie FEI. The Energy Institute extends its heartfelt thanks for their years of dedicated service. Michael Howie will continue to contribute as a member of the EI’s Nominations Committee for the next three years.
