Helix Begins Plant Construction at Its Flagship Rudyard Project, Montana

15/07/2025

Helix Exploration, the helium exploration and development company with near-term production assets within the 'Montana Helium Fairway', announces the commencement of civils work and plant construction at its flagship Rudyard Project, Montana.

Highlights:

  • Civil construction underway at the Rudyard Plant site, including ground clearance and compaction prior to installation of a reinforced concrete pad.
  • PSA plant and membrane modules from Texas to Montana on track for delivery in August 2025.
  • Compressor units expected to follow soon after.
  • First helium production targeted to commence once final equipment delivery & integration is completed onsite.

Bo Sears, CEO of Helix Exploration, commented:
"We are now fully underway with construction at the Rudyard Plant site, another important step toward being the first helium producer in the State of Montana. With four production wells already drilled, a fifth in progress, and equipment mobilisation underway, Helix remains focused on delivering one of the most cost-effective and rapid developments in the North American helium sector."

Background

Civil works commenced at the Rudyard Plant site in early July 2025, with pad grading and compaction progressing ahead of equipment installation. The site occupies the highest point on the 20-acre lease, allowing for optimal drainage and layout.

The PSA & membranes are scheduled for delivery to Montana as soon as the pad work is completed.

Preparations for the gas gathering system are also advancing with material procurement  underway.  On-site installation should begin in August 2025 depending on delivery of 4" piping from Wyoming.

Final integration and commissioning of the plant remain contingent on delivery of the helium compressor skid.  Coordination with vendors and programmers is ongoing to finalise the control logic, with a preference for a soft-start configuration to reduce fuel usage and improve control during initial startup.

First helium production will commence following completion of compressor installation, plant hookup, and regulatory inspection.
