Oil India Limited (OIL) has selected Absolute Imaging to reprocess two 3Ds totalling 271 sq. km through Anisotropic Pre-Stack Time Migration (PSTM) and Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM).
Included in the reprocessing effort will be Absolute Imaging’s advanced depth migrators, among them Reverse Time Migration (RTM) and Least Squares implementation of Kirchhoff PSDM.
The data lies in northeast India’s highly structured Assam-Arakan sedimentary basin in the state of Assam. The local topography is rugose and the thrust belt geology is highly complex. The seismic was acquired within the fold belt area where the eastward extension of the Naga thrust has resulted in suitable entrapments conditions.
The region is OIL’s main production area, having commercially produced hydrocarbons since 1889. Absolute Imaging appreciates having earned OIL’s trust, based on repeated successful projects for the operator.
