The Supervisory Board of 50Hertz Transmission GmbH have appointed Christine Janssen as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of 50Hertz. She succeeds Marco Nix, who joined the Elia Group as CFO on April 1.

The 50Hertz Management will soon be complete again: Christine Janssen will assume responsibility for Finance at the electricity transmission system operator 50Hertz. With this appointment, the company is creating gender parity in the management and at the same time sets an important exampel in terms of strategic orientation.

Christine Janssen is not only a proven expert in finance, but also an energy industry expert and, in particular, a regulatory expert. The business engineer with a focus on electrical engineering is moving from MITNETZ STROM and MITNETZ GAS, where she made a significant contribution to the successful development of the company as Commercial Director. Previously, the 39-year-old was a senior manager in the field of energy consulting at the auditing and consulting company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she worked in the field of energy consulting for over ten years.

Stefan Kapferer, CEO of 50Hertz:
"We are happy to welcome Christine Janssen to our 50Hertz management team as the new CFO soon. We are facing times of major investments that we can only make if the economic framework conditions are right. I am convinced that Christine Janssen will make an important contribution here through her know-how and strategic thinking. With the appointment of our new CFO, we are well positioned for the future."

Christine Janssen is also looking forward to the new task:
"The energy transition is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and I am convinced that together we can develop and implement innovative solutions. I look forward to actively driving the future of the energy industry together with the 50Hertz team."
