Entries have officially opened for the AFBE-UK Gala & Awards 2025 – one of the UK’s leading celebrations of diversity and excellence in engineering – set to take place in Aberdeen.

Returning to P&J Live on Thursday, November 6, the biennial event honours the individuals and organisations driving change across engineering, energy and technology. From leadership and entrepreneurship to mentorship and workplace inclusion, the awards shine a light on those setting new standards across the sector.

Nominations are open now across nine major categories, including STEM Champion of the Year, BME Leader of the Year, and Ethnicity ERG of the Year. The closing date for entries is Friday, June 27, with finalists announced in September.

Founded in 2007, AFBE-UK (the Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers) has had a strong presence in Aberdeen since 2011, delivering mentoring and career development programmes that have supported hundreds of professionals and students across the North-east and beyond.
