China National Offshore Oil Corporation today announced that the Huizhou 26-6 oilfield development project has started production.
The project is located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, with an average water depth of about 110 meters. The main production facilities are a newly built integrated intelligent drilling and production platform and the "Nanhai Endeavour" FPSO after adaptive transformation. It is planned to put into production 19 development wells, including 2 oil wells and 17 gas wells. It is expected to achieve a peak production of about 20,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2027, with the main products being light crude oil and natural gas.
The Huizhou 26-6 oilfield development project is CNOOC's first deep buried hill reservoir development project in the South China Sea. The company actively applies the latest technological achievements and uses China's first intelligent offshore drilling and production platform in this project to achieve efficient development of offshore oil and gas resources and provide solid support for the economic and social development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
CNOOC owns 100% of the project and serves as the operator.
