Tenders Invited For Carbon Storage Studies

21/11/2024

The NSTA is inviting bids from contractors to carry out two subsurface modelling projects which will help us better understand the relationships between pressure and formation fluid movement in saline aquifers that could store carbon dioxide.

Tender 1:  The NSTA is seeking proposals from subsurface experts to help understand the impact that the movement of subsurface fluids - due to pressure changes induced by CO2 injection - may have at existing well locations. Semi-regional subsurface modelling of formation fluid movement in response to CO2 injection with a focus on the impact at existing wells - Contracts Finder

Tender 2: Using subsurface concepts relevant to the UKCS, and under defined geological conditions, we seek to run simulations using representative fluid properties of CO2 to investigate the subsurface factors that most influence or control the behaviour of migrating CO2. Conceptual modelling for migration assisted storage - Contracts Finder

Interested parties have until 29 November 2024 to submit their applications. The projects must be completed on or before 31 March 2025.
