SPE London is running a 1-day seminar titled ‘Introduction to Exploration & Production for the Net Zero World’ at the Geological Society on 4 December 2024. The seminar is especially useful for people who are new to the Oil & Gas industry who don’t yet understand how their role fits into the wider industry. This seminar will help them to ask the right questions when it comes to other technical experts in their company, and also when dealing externally.
The seminar is not for Petroleum Engineers, it’s for people who want a better understanding of the upstream business, with a UK focus. Especially those who work alongside subsurface Oil & Gas staff: graduates, finance, lawyers, etc. Presentations will be at a basic level and attendees will get a good overview of all Upstream disciplines. The seminar introduces the full life cycle of oil and gas fields, covering the basics of exploration, geoscience, drilling, operations, reservoir management, economics, etc.
The event has been run 16 times in London, so we have a fine-tuned set of speakers. In previous years the speakers talked about low oil price, or M&A activity. In 2024 the Energy Transition is a real focus for the industry, so we put significant content related to this in every presentation.
It’s only £199 for the Earlybird tickets. Standard tickets are £249 after Oct 15th. We can achieve such a low cost as our 9 speakers are employed in the industry but volunteer their time for this seminar.
The ticket page shows the agenda for the day.
