Investigating the Potential of Epidote Geochemistry for Sedimentary Provenance Studies

23/08/2024

CASP is pleased today announced the release of our latest report: "Investigating the Potential of Epidote Geochemistry for Sedimentary Provenance Studies: A Case Study of Triassic Sandstones from the Korotaikha and Bol’shaya Synya Basins, Polar to Subpolar Urals, Russia."

The report introduces an innovative application of detrital epidote geochemistry as a tool for provenance analysis. The study is based on samples of Early to Late Triassic epidote-rich sandstones deposited in the foreland basin to the Polar and Subpolar Urals, the provenance of which are well characterised by complementary CASP studies.

The report's authors are Mike Curtis, Michael Flowerdew, Andy Morton, Gloria Heilbronn, Michelle Shiers, Dirk Frei and Pavel Pishkun.
