The enviaM Group is taking on solar projects with a total potential of more than 700 megawatts in Central Germany. The projects under development are being implemented in cooperation between the enviaM subsidiary envia THERM and the ASG Group with the joint venture Ventura Holding GmbH. The aim of the partnership is to accelerate the expansion of renewable energies in the region and thus strengthen Central Germany as a green business and industrial location.
"The solar parks currently under development have an output of more than 700 megawatts. That is immense. In purely mathematical terms, this corresponds to the electricity needs of 270,000 households per year. The project is therefore one of the largest and most important initiatives in the enviaM Group and is driving the establishment of businesses and industry that rely on green energy ," says Patrick Kather, enviaM Board Member for Production and Sales.
Thomas Kühnert, Managing Director of envia THERM GmbH, adds: "For the planned business growth with regional energy solutions, we want to significantly expand electricity generation from wind and solar power plants in the coming years. The cooperation and joint venture with the ASG Group is therefore an ideal addition to our activities in Central Germany."
The solar projects are mainly located in Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt and Saxony. The first building permit for a solar park with around 72 MWp in southern Brandenburg is expected in 2024.
"We are pleased to have found a regionally well-known, competent and strong partner in envia THERM who values our abilities in developing projects ready for construction. Both companies share the goal of making energy supplies in their common home region sustainable," says Radenko Krpelj, CEO of ASG Versum AG.
The cooperation between envia THERM and the ASG Group and the associated transaction were notarized and completed on August 1, 2024. Over the next few years, the planned plants will be gradually built once they are ready for construction and the green electricity generated will be used in regional energy solutions in conjunction with battery storage systems.
