Congratulations to the following energy professionals who have recently secured new positions in the E&P, renewable, service and industry organization sectors:

  • Serica Energy has named Chris Cox as its new CEO, effective July 1, replaces Mitch Flegg, who announced his departure in February after six years in the role.
  • Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has fired Petrobras Chief Executive Officer Jean Paul Prates following a dispute over dividend payments.
  • Karoon Energy announced that Marco Brummelhuis has been appointed as Executive Vice President & Country Manager of Karoon Brazil.
  • Maha Energy has announced the appointment of Roberto Marchiori as new Chief Financial Officer effective immediately. Prates is expected to officially resign at an upcoming board meeting.
  • Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) announced that MPC President Maryann T. Mannen will succeed Michael J. Hennigan as Chief Executive Officer and will join the Board of Directors and Michael Hennigan will transition from CEO to Executive Chairman of the Board, effective August 1, 2024. 
  • Nadia Petkova has been appointed Managing Director, Impact and Partnerships at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
  • The Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has re-elected Odile Renaud-Basso to serve a second term as the Bank’s President.
  • BIG Partnership director Gayle Grant, who has been with the agency since 2010, is stepping up to lead the Aberdeen office.
  • Shona Hendry has moved into the newly-created role of head of PR – Aberdeen at BIG Partnership.
  • Richard Crighton has been appointed head of energy at BIG Partnership where he will lead growth across renewables and energy transition clients.
  • Pam Wilson, a former broadcast journalist and BBC radio producer who has been with BIG Partnership since 2013, has taken up the role of head of media relations – international, supporting BIG’s growing portfolio of global clients.
  • Sarah Wells is starting a new position as Senior Administrator at Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG).
  • Hanne Karine Simensen, former Head of Commercial in Hydro Aluminium Metal, is to take over as Executive Vice President (EVP) of Hydro Aluminium Metal.
  • Trond Olaf Christophersen, EVP for Corporate Development and interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is taking on the role as CFO at Hydro.
  • Kari Ekelund Thørud, Head of Ownership Governance in Hydro Energy, is replacing Arvid Moss as Executive Vice President of Hydro Energy.
  • Energy Safety Canada, the national safety association for Canada’s energy industry, has announced the appointment of Vineeta Maguire as the new President and Chief Executive Officer effective June 11, 2024.
  • John Sayer is starting a new position as Director of Geoscience at Cegal.
  • Marta Olczak has been appointed as the new Finance Director for EPI Group.
  • Dan Tostado has joined Geoteric as a Sales Account Manager for North America, based in their Houston office.
  • Aurora Solar, the leading platform for solar sales and design, announced the appointment of Patrick Donahue as Chief Product Officer and the promotion of Carina Brockl to Chief Revenue Officer.
  • MidOcean Energy, a leading institutional investor in the global energy and infrastructure sectors, announced the appointment of Armand Lumens as Chief Financial Officer.
  • Stephen Molyneux has joined ERCE's team in Perth, Australia as Geoscience Advisor.
  • Upland Resources has announced the appointment of Albert May as Chief Commercial Officer of the Company, effective May 1st 2024.
  • Julianne Recine has joined Waystone Compliance Solutions as an Independent Director in the Fund Governance group, based in the U.S.
  • Joe Oliver, former finance minister of Canada, has joined the Board of Trustees of the Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF).
