Eversource Energy has concluded and signed definitive documents regarding the previously announced agreement to sell its 50% stake in the Sunrise Wind project to Ørsted. The initiative involves the installation of a 924MW offshore wind farm in the United States.
The deal establishes that Eversource Energy will be awarded the project's onshore construction management agreement and work as Ørsted's service provider, while the latter will own 100% of Sunrise Wind.
The offshore wind farm will be built approximately 48km off the coast of Montauk Paint, New York. Once operational, the facility will be able to power almost 600,000 households.
