BlueNord Provides Update on Tyra Redevelopment Project

18/04/2024

BlueNord has been informed by the operator TotalEnergies that an operational occurrence related to the IP compressor is temporarily impacting the commissioning of the new Tyra facilities during the ramp-up and testing period, and the teams are working to resolve the issue. Gas export from the Tyra hub to Denmark will continue, however, the operator is currently evaluating the potential impact on the timing to reach full technical capacity.

TYRA

The Tyra Field was discovered in 1968 and production started in 1984. Its facilities process more than 90 percent of the gas produced in Denmark, as well as the entire gas production of the DUC.

The Tyra field consists of 2 main process centers, Tyra East and Tyra West, which are linked to 5 unmanned satellite fields, including Tyra Southeast, Harald, Valdemar, Svend and Roar. The gas is exported to shore and the oil is exported to Gorm E. The Tyra East and West comprises 11 platforms and due to subsidence, the field is currently being redeveloped.

The Tyra Redevelopment project is, to date, the largest project carried out on the Danish Continental Shelf, and is expected to increase net production by 90 percent and unlock gross reserves in excess of 200 mmboe. Redeveloped Tyra will decrease OPEX significantly and lower emissions at the field by 30 percent. In addition, the completed project will extend field life by 25 years and produce enough gas to power what equals to 1.5 million homes in Denmark.
