An incident involving fire occurred at the Perenco Becuna platform offshore Gabon yesterday (20 March 2024) at approximately 15.25 (Gabon time). Five people have died and one person remains missing.
The area has been secured, the fire has been placed under control and all personnel on the platform who were not injured have been moved to a safe location.
Perenco has activated its emergency response procedure and is working closely with the emergency services and the relevant authorities.
