GESGB: CCS4G Symposium

The CCS4G Symposium is back for its third edition and is scheduled for 19 December 2024 in London. An annual, one-day symposium on Carbon Capture and Storage for Geoscientists hosted by the GESGB ‘Exploring the Energy Transition’ Special Interest Group.

The symposium will delve into the exciting geotechnical challenges and opportunities of geological CO2 storage, helping to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in this rapidly evolving field.

GESGB are curating presentation abstracts from industry leaders with the following target topics:
 
CCS CASE HISTORIES

  • Depleted reservoirs, deep saline aquifers & mineralisation
  • Live operational projects, pilot CO2 injection, projects approaching FID

GEOTECHNICAL PROGRAMME DESIGN

  • Assessing seals and containment, storage efficiency
  • Injectivity, measurement monitoring and verification

The symposium potentially offers opportunities for learning, research, emerging technologies, networking, collaboration and making contacts with potential partners. Plus, opportunities to discuss supply chain, employment trends, technical collaboration, public perceptions, public engagement and HSE aspects.
