GESGB (Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain) has announced a new training course designed as a guide for non-specialists involved in the process of reservoir management.

The course is focussed on the process and technology of maximising the economic recovery of hydrocarbons from conventional reservoirs. This will include reservoir description, reservoir drive mechanism, reservoir performance, and primary and secondary recovery methods based on different case study fields, and the economic drivers behind further investment after initial estimates of field life.

This course is not deeply academic, rather the description of a process enlivened by several stories and case studies from the author’s forty years of experience in the oil-patch.
