Eurowind Energy acquires the HyBalance hydrogen plant

03/10/2023

As of October 1st, Eurowind Energy has acquired the HyBalance hydrogen plant, Jyllandsvej 25, 9500 Hobro, Denmark, from Air Liquide.

This purchase is the first step in Eurowind Energy’s plan to enter the PtX industry and will provide valuable insights into the production of hydrogen, using the excess power from solar and wind. The overall strategy is to implement the production of hydrogen in Eurowind Energy’s future hybrid parks across Europe.

“At Eurowind Energy, we are proud to continue the local commitment to the HyBalance project. The project, as well as the location, is a perfect point of departure for us to develop our engagement in the PtX industry even further, and realize our mission to become a power major,” said Jens Rasmussen, CEO, Eurowind Energy.

About the HyBalance hydrogen plant:

The HyBalance hydrogen plant is a PEM (Polymer Electrolyte Membrane) unit and can produce more than 500 kg of pure hydrogen per day.

The production unit is fully equipped with a 1.25 MW PEM electrolyser, a hydrogen compression unit, storage facilities, and filling facilities for both tube trailers and smaller transport cylinders.

The HyBalance hydrogen production unit has supplied high-quality hydrogen since 2018.
