PGS Successfully Reflags Entire Fleet of Owned Vessels to Norway

19/12/2023

The reflagging of the Ramform Tethys on 5 December 2023 marked the completion of an initiative to bring the entire PGS fleet of owned vessels under the Norwegian flag.

In September 2022, PGS declared its intention to reflag all active vessels to Norway, citing the global geopolitical situation as a driving factor. The Ramform Titan led the way, with registration in the Norwegian International Ship Register (NIS) on 20 September 2022, and other active vessels in the PGS fleet have followed suit. Last week, the reflagging process was complete, achieving the stated ambition within the target date of the end of this year.

The reflagging journey commenced with the Ramform Vanguard, registered with NIS in August 2021 before a project in the Black Sea. PGS believes that sailing its active vessels under the Norwegian flag aligns with its strategic goals.

Rob Adams, EVP Operation at PGS, expressed enthusiasm about the completion of the reflagging process, saying:
“PGS vessels are proud to sail under the Norwegian flag. We have good experiences with NIS, and as a Norwegian registered company, we appreciate our continuous constructive dialog with the Norwegian Maritime Directorate as the governmental authority for NIS flagged vessels.”

This milestone reinforces PGS’s commitment to risk mitigation and its compliance with international maritime standards.
