Gabby Logan announced as OEUK Awards host

31/10/2023

Radio and television presenter, Gabby Logan MBE, will host a prestigious energy awards ceremony in Aberdeen next month to celebrate the people and companies who have demonstrated standout talent, innovation, and accomplishment across the energy sector in 2023.

Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), the leading trade body for the UK’s offshore energy industry, will award eight categories, ranging from ‘Innovative Supply Chain Company of the Year’ to ‘Outstanding Contribution to Energy Decarbonisation’, as part of its annual OEUK Awards.

Gabby has presented the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and football World Cup coverage for the BBC as well as covering the ground-breaking 2022 Euros, featuring the Lionesses’ historic win. A prolific writer, she’s been a columnist for The Times and has previously written for The Independent, The Guardian, Glamour, and Stylist Magazine. She also hosts her successful podcast ‘The Mid Point’.

This year, OEUK has introduced a new category, the ‘Neighbour of the Year’ award, which aims to recognise companies that have exemplified exceptional corporate social responsibility and community engagement.

The ceremony, sponsored by Shell U.K. Limited, takes place on Thursday 30 November at the P&J Live in Aberdeen.

OEUK CEO David Whitehouse said:
“Our industry is essential for the economic and energy prosperity of our country. Our brilliant, skilled people work tirelessly to produce the energy off the coasts of Britain that powers not just our homes, transport, and industry, but the everyday products we need to live well.

“Our members are investing not only in homegrown oil and gas, but also to accelerate our expansion into renewable sources. The expertise of our people is driving innovation in clean energy solutions like carbon capture and storage, the hydrogen economy, and offshore wind. We are determined to create a sustainable future.

“That is why it’s important we continue to recognise and congratulate the hard work and talent of our community – especially at a time where our sector is helping to ensure we deliver security of energy supply as well as moving the dial on decarbonisation.

“We are looking forward to a wonderful night celebrating the people who have shown exceptional dedication and talent this year and who will take the offshore energy industry forward into its exciting future.”
